Dr. Tamanna Bhuyan

Dr. Tamanna Bhuyan received Ph.D (Nanotechnology) from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati in 2020 in the area of Micro/Nanorobots for Therapeutics. She received the Best PhD Thesis Award for the year 2021 and bagged a Gold Medal in her Masters in Biotechnology. She is currently working as an Assistant Professor and a researcher at the Dept. of Applied Biology, University of Science and Technology Meghalaya. She has been a DST INSPIRE Fellow and has published more than 13 research papers in reputed journals such as ACS, RSC, Springer, and Elsevier. She has authored 2 book chapters, holds 2 patents and her research work has been featured in NATURE INDIA and INDIA BIOSCIENCES. She, along with her team, bagged SITARE- GYTI (Gandhian Young Technological Innovation) Appreciation 2021 for the work “Microfluidic Immunosensor for Point-of-Care-Testing of Beta-2-Microglobulinin Tear”. She has been awarded projects sponsored by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Govt. of India) executed at Centre for Nanotechnology, IIT Guwahati, and New Generation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre project funded by NSTEDB-DST (Govt. of India) executed at USTM. She has participated in several national and international seminars funded by MHRD and DST SERB, and received organized workshops, seminars, and expert lectures to create opportunities for students and researchers. Her current research interests include fabrication of micro/nanobots, nanoparticle synthesis, microfluidics, drug delivery studies, antimicrobial studies, anticancer therapeutics, and environmental remediation. .
